A Treasure House

There are not a lot of miniature/hobbyist stores in Vancouver.  Of the hobbyist stores that are still in existence, very few of them sell dollhouse miniatures.  After some extensive research on where I  can actually go into a physical store to marvel at miniatures and to actually touch them before buying, I found Ross’ Miniature Treasure House located all the way in North Vancouver.  It was not an unreasonable distance from Vancouver, but to avoid downtown and Lions Gate Bridge traffic, I had to go early.

The plan was to buy some trim for a project I am working on, something about $5 worth.  Of course, I should have known better than to think I’m only going to spend $5 when I walk into a miniatures shop.  I ended up getting a lot more than I bargained for, but at the very very very least, the items I got were all relevant to the project(s) I’m working on.

The lady who was working that morning was also very helpful, and knew exactly where each item in the store were located and gave me some hints and tips about the things I was working on.  When I got ready to pay, we had a brief discussion of what I did “normally”, and I shared the fact that I’m a 9-5er and that it’s just so relaxing to come home after work of staring at a computer screen all day to hold something in my hands to work with, and that the result is tangible.

She agreed that miniatures and crafting in general is much more satisfactory than sitting in front of a computer all day, and offered me a treat.
