In 2008, I went to visit the place my grandfather grew up.  His older brother and two sisters still live in the village.  Grandpa’s path of migration went from a village in the outskirts of Guangzhou to Hong Kong, and then finally to Vancouver where he spent his retirement years taking me, my brother, my cousins to parks to play and to ice cream shops on hot summer days.
